Photo shoot

Last year at this time I took the kids out to Buffalo Bills Ranch and took pictures of them. They turned out so good. So again I tried and not as much success, but then again working with a 1 year old in open grass is not easy. This is my attempt at new pictures. I will be trying again soon, but maybe this time with some help from dad.

Trip to Utah

I took a trip to Utah to be there with my sister for her surgery. For those who don't know Tracy was diagnosed with breast cancer in August and had a double mastectomy on Sept. 11. My wonderful husband took his vacation that week and stayed home with the kids. My sister Tara was able to come also from New Mexico without any of her kids also. Tara met me in Denver and we flew into SLC together. Tracy and Broc (her son) picked us up and we went to lunch. The next day Tara and I stayed at Tracy's house with Broc until her friend came to pick him up for the day. Then Tara and I went to the hospital to be there when she came out of surgery. She stayed overnight then the next morning she came home. Her great husband let Tara and I stay at their house so we could help with Broc and anything they needed. We were able to visit alot and make some "Thank You" cards for her. I left on monday and Tara left on tuesday. We had a great time being together. It was hard being away from the kids and Jeremy but I did have a great visit with my sisters. Tracy is doing really well and will start radiation in about 2 1/2 weeks. She has to go 5 days a week for 6 weeks then she should be done. After that she should be able to finish her reconstuctive part. Here are some pictures of us while we were there.

Gabbi's 7th Birthday

OK I will admit it "I am not the greatest mom in the world". I forgot to post Gabbi's birthday. I do kind of have a good excuse, We were extremely busy on her birthday with her party and our wedding anniversary. Then the next day on the 10th I left early in the morning to drive to Denver to catch a flight to Utah to be with my little sister for sugery (another entry I will do later). So there it is my excuse for not posting this sooner.
Well Gabbi turned 7 on September 9. I can not even tell you where 7 years have gone. It is still a mystery to me how time goes so fast. The day started with pancakes made by dad then off to school. Of course we had to bring treats to school to share. Then after school we were off to the bowling alley for her party. The creative person that I am (not really just check out familyfun.com for party ideas) made all the girls coming to the party bowling team t-shirts that said Gabbi's Bowling team and had the girls names on them. They had a great time bowling. Then we had cake and opened presents. Then home for dinner and more presents. She got a new bike from the family and was really excited. Finally it was bed time. It was a very busy day trying to get ready to leave and get her party finished. But we did it and enjoyed every minute of it.

Railfest in Railtown USA

This past weekend we joined in the fun at Railfest. This is the second annual event for North Platte. Last year Jeremy was one of the tour guides so he wasn't able to join the fun, but this year it was his weekend off so we were able to go as a family. Talk about a lot of train fans!!!! Broc (my nephew) would of loved it. We spent most of saturday at the park walking around looking at the vendors with all their train stuff and seeing the different parts of trains that Union Pacific had set up. I think the kids had a good time but were pretty worn out by the end of the day. On thursday one of the few running steam engines came into town and we were able to see it come in blowing smoke and making lots of noise.

then on saturday we rode the Union Pacific mini train around the park. That was pretty fun. We thought it was pretty neat to ride in the car that was made by the diesel shop in Salt Lake. When we got off the kids wanted to ride again, but Jeremy and I didn't want to stand in line again, so we went to eat. And of course stand in line to buy food. It was a beautiful day to be out.

then in the evening we went back for the EVER FAMOUS (at least to us) Cody Park Ice Cream. You would think it was great too, if you tasted it and only had to pay 40 cents for an ice cream cone. Anyways, we met some of friends and rode the rides and had ice cream. I think that ended up being the best part of the day. Great ENDING to a great DAY!

Happy 1st Birthday Mattisyn

Today we celebrated our baby's 1st birthday! Wow that was a very quick year. The kids were excited for her and sang happy birthday all day. We went to church in the morning then went to cody park for a craft show (that was Matti's choice), then we had another family come over to have cake and ice cream. I made a homemade yellow cake and cheese creme frosting, it was delicious. Matti ate a whole piece all by herself and even left some in her hair for later. After cake she (well mostly Jered and Tayler) opened her presents. She likes the taste of wrapping paper. Overall I think she had a GREAT Birthday! We sure do count our blessings everyday for Matti, Gabbi, Jered, and Tayler. We love them so much! Enjoy the pictures.
